Primitive 19th Century Elm Wabi-Sabi Wheel Makers | Pig Bench Seat 5ft

A superb primitive wabi-sabi wooden bench, 19th century (possibly earlier), a characterful piece in its original form, a wonderful natural piece with great texture and colour.

A rare style, the bench would have originally been used as a wheelwrigths bench/vice with both ends open and closing to form a clamp mechanism to accommodate different wheel widths.  The bench has now been firmly fixed into position to provide a usable bench, surprisingly comfortable and a great occasional bench seat for a hallway or as a decorators piece.

Would also work well in a bathroom or sauna area, ideal for towels and accessories.

In excellent sturdy condition, despite its rickety appearance, the bench is very stable and sturdy to sit on.  The wood is also in excellent solid order, the base of legs have been cut to provide a level stance to the bench seat.  All wood has been carefully checked and preserved, clean and ready for installation.

Made from mixed Elm and Ash, an attractive piece for someone looking to add natural wood texture to a room or to create that perfect wabi-sabi beauty.

Price includes UK mainland delivery.
