Ref: GD1481 Category:

A charming high top church table from a small rural chapel in Wales.  As with all ecclesiastical furniture, this is a well constructed piece made from solid pine, it has a lovely warm tone and worn patina to it.  A small table that is unusually high, probably used as a little desk or treasury table, the drawer has a lock which suggests it may have been used to keep collections during service.

Would make a lovely hall or flower table, with handy storage drawer.  The lock is no longer working but the original key is still included.

The piece originated from a small village in rural Wales, Moriah Chapel dates to 1829 and was remodelled in 1888.  This piece was probably made during its remodelling in 1888 as part of the updated interior.
