A charming exposed frame antique fireside Armchair with tall Cast Iron back dating to mid 1800’s.   The chair has been deconstructed to reveal the wonderful iron frame and the hessian seat.   The original iron back is made without welding points and is a sculptural flowing from.  The iron has been hand forged and bent and shows the marks made in the forge over 100 years ago on the iron surfaces.

It’s a beautiful decorative piece, a joy to look and perfectly proportioned.  This uniquely stylish chair will add a layer of texture to any room in the house.   It has a low seat with a perfect angled back to provide a comfortable relaxing seating position.    The chair is sprung and hosts its original horse hair with hessian.  As seen in the photos there have been some historic repair to the seat straps.

The seat is in good solid order, it is sturdy and can be used as is or reupholstered to your liking.
