Crafted in the iconic ‘Lobster Pot’ style popularised by renowned Italian designer Franco Albini in the 1950s, this handsome pair of mid-century (circa 1970s) wicker ottoman footstools offer a chic and versatile addition to any mid-century modern or boho-inspired interior.
Featuring a spherical, orb-like silhouette made from expertly woven rattan reeds, the ottomans exude an airy, organic aesthetic that perfectly captures the effortless elegance of Albini’s celebrated ‘Lobster Pot’ design. In good overall condition, the pair are stable and sturdy, a couple of historic repairs to the underside, the matt tops appear to be a slightly later addition but fit perfectly with the pieces and exclude that 1960/70s period aesthetic.
A decorative pair that would also work as plant stands/plinths, overall size H30cm (12in) x W47cm (18.5in), tops measure 23cm / 9in.
