An early, Circa 1900, Globe Wernicke & Co Ltd of London, Glazed Oak Bookcase in superb original condition. This example has 5 tiered stacking modular sections with a separate plinth base and upper pelmet. The glazed doors hinge and slide back into the bookcase allowing the doors to remain open, all glass doors are in perfect working order. All doors retain their original brass button central handle.
Originally designed and patented un the USA circa 1880, production started in England in 1900 by Thomas Turner under the name Globe-Wernicke & Co Limited. This example retains it’s original ivroine makers labels on each unit.
